Yesterday in Review
A good day that could've been perfect — yesterday's card went 3 for 4 for +0.94u (+17.1% ROI). The Tien double and Auger-Aliassime/Khachanov O3.5 both cashed, but Buse choked and didn't even take a set — I did say he might be fatigued from playing so much tennis, just didn't think it'd fuck him that much. Let's keep on pushing, PPP community.
Etcheverry v Navone
The books have Navone as a slight favourite, and I can't really explain it. Maybe he's got some juice after beating Djoker, but if anyone watched that match, they'd know it was more about the 39-year-old legend's health than Navone playing extremely well. He then beat Matteo Berrettini in the last round in four sets — someone he's already beaten this year, and who hasn't been at his best/healthy all year.
Etcheverry comes in playing incredibly strong, not just two strong results. He beat Kopriva and Fearnley and barely broke a sweat in either. Navone has beaten better opponents, but I truly believe Etcheverry is the better player. He's in a good rhythm, and in their two past meetings he's won them both:

Michelsen v Merida
Merida literally just beat Michelsen in the Montreal 1000 R32 and comes in playing better tennis. I think Michelsen's line is boosted because he beat Nakashima, who was playing very well — but if you watched that match, you could tell Naka was out of it and maybe a bit fatigued. Regardless, Michelsen won it in three sets, which is still impressive.
Baby Alcaraz Merida has been playing great all year, especially the last few months, won a couple of tough matches to get here with relative ease, and I think he's the better overall player. This feels like it'll be a very popular underdog selection today, but that doesn't mean it's wrong:

Lehecka v Tsitsipas
Tsitsipas has gone from everyone hating him to everyone rooting for him because of his fall-off. He's still incredibly cocky and full of himself, which can be fun to watch on the court for good and bad reasons — the total opposite of Lehecka, who's a consistent server and overall player, never getting too high or too low.
Tsitsi had two hard matches to get here, getting through Arthur Fils and Lloyd Harris in four sets each. That's proof that when he's firing, he can still be a top 15/20 player on tour, and that backhand can still be as deadly as ever. Lehecka had two relatively easy opponents in the first two rounds, Carreño Busta and Toby Samuel.
A huge jump in talent for Lehecka's opponent — the series between the two is 2-2, and Lehecka's won the last two (both two years ago). I think there's value in Tsitsipas, who always believes in himself and has beaten two really good players, while Lehecka's cake-walked in here. Tsitsipas will be up for this, and hopefully he can keep his level:
